Medical Institute

Medical Institute. Architects F.P. Steblin, S.Kh. Sahakyan, 1939. Today it seems strange that such a spectacular building with its facade with graceful columns looks into the courtyard. This did not happen due to an erroneous connection. In the 40s, Logvinenko Street served as the main exit from the city to the south towards the mountains. The street was lined with educational and administrative buildings, and in front of the medical institute there was a large Military Square, open towards the main Logvinenko Street. The student sports campus was also located here. And the medical institute building was open and looked good from this square. And behind the institute, where Togoloka Moldo Park is now, there was a wasteland on the outskirts of the city. During World War II, there was an infantry school training ground with trenches and trenches where motorized (wedge-heeled) infantry were trained. Later, the square was built up with buildings of the Institute of Cardiology and blocked the view of the colonnade of the medical institute.
