of Fine Arts The museum building was built in 1974. Architects: D. Yryskulov, Sh. Dzhekshenbaev. Initially it was located in the building of the Church of St. Nicholas in Oak Park. Now there is a gallery of the Union of Artists there. The basis of the museum consisted of 72 works of Russian artists, selected from the repositories of the Tretyakov Gallery and 40 works of painting by Kyrgyz artists. The first exhibition was opened on January 1, 1935 as an art gallery, which in 1944 was transformed into the Kyrgyz State Museum of Fine Arts. The volume of the collection is about 18 thousand exhibits. About 4 thousand paintings, about 9600 examples of graphics, about 1 thousand sculptures and more than 3 thousand pieces of decorative and applied art. On display are works from the Soviet period, Egyptian and Greek reproductions, classical Western sculptures, and works of folk arts and crafts. The golden fund of the museum is the works of classics S. Chuikov, G. Aitiev, S. Akylbekov, A. Ignatiev, L. Ilyina, A. Mikhalev, L. Mesarosh, O. Manuilova, T. Sadykov, D. Umetov, T. Herzen, B. Dzhumabaev, A. Asrankulov, S. Aitiev.
