Central Square

The Central Square was founded in 1933-38. The authors of the plan are B. Witz and I. Ratsek. The square has the shape of a rectangle, divided into parts by alleys. The compositional axis is a wide alley running through the center and designed as a parterre. The ground floor is decorated with carpet flower beds using national ornaments. Over 50 species of trees and shrubs grow in the park. There is a decorative fountain in the center of the square. In 1964-65 The square was reconstructed according to the design of the architect E. Pisarsky. In 1938, a sculpture of I.V. Stalin was installed at the main entrance to the Central Square.
