A PLACE IN THE CITY'S HISTORY

(Bazarnaya-Dunganskaya) Metal openwork canopies hung over the wooden porches of the main entrance. The elegant forged curtain included characteristic Kyrgyz motifs in the ornament. Iron masters applied their skills by decorating the gables of houses, funnels of drainpipes, and chimneys with elegant finials. Decorative elements, taken individually, do not make a strong impression. They looked in the ensemble of the entire building, playing not only a spectacular role in it, but also performing certain functions: they strengthened the stability of the house, hid building structures, protected from bright light, precipitation and even from dashing people. Nowadays you can still find houses that have survived their time, rebuilt and greatly altered. None of them has preserved the entire complex of these architectural elements.
