on a house from the early twentieth century. The facades of the houses were decorated with carved cornices, platbands, and shutters on the windows. Decorative elements, taken individually, do not make a strong impression. They looked in the ensemble of the entire building, playing not only a spectacular role in it, but also performing certain functions: they strengthened the stability of the house, hid building structures, protected from bright light, precipitation and even from dashing people. Nowadays you can still find houses that have survived their time, rebuilt and greatly altered. None of them has preserved the entire complex of these architectural elements.
