From the album Kyrgyzstan, 1985 The building, designed by architect P. Ivanov, was built as a pedagogical institute and was completed in 1941. During the war, it housed a rear hospital. In 1951, the institute was transformed into the Kyrgyz State University, and a third floor was added to the building. Sculpture group at the University, sculptors K.G. Koshkin, O.D.
