Monument to the Red Guards

 Monument to the Red Guards. Architect I. Lyublinsky. Sculptor K. Koshkin. The monument to the Red Guards who died for Soviet power was erected in 1960 on a mass grave in the Oak Garden, where on January 1, 1919, the Red Guards who died during the suppression of the Belovodsk rebellion were buried. The monument is an 11-meter high granite obelisk topped with a hammer and sickle. On the western and eastern sides of the obelisk there is the inscription “Eternal glory to those who fell in the struggle for Soviet power.” The barrels of bronze cannons are mounted on carriages in the corners.
