The timber was brought not only from the surrounding forests of Pishpek and Przhevalsk districts, but also from distant ones - Barnaul and Semipalatinsk. Trade in livestock and livestock products was the basis of the Pishpek bazaar. Several taverns and teahouses adjoined the market square, where you could have a good meal, relax, and even spend the night.
